2015 Tour of Belgium, Germany, Austria and Slovenia
Begining of May and again we took the Channel tunnel due to it being less stressful for Cassie, arriving at Calais at 11.00 am we moved into Belgium near Brussels for two nights to acclimatise and then away to a campsite in Germany and close to the border with Luxembourg. After a few nights stop and sightseeing we then set off in the direction of Austria stopping briefly near its border, we then entered Austria near to Saltzburg and headed to Lake Ossiacher near to Villach where we would stay the week, this is where the weather greatly improved with temperatures in the low 30's.
After our stay we headed for Lake Bled in Slovenia for a long stay, this was the highlight of our trip with it being a beautiful country along with friendly people. Sightseeing was fantastic with mountains, gorges, waterfalls and valleys, again the weather was continuously good with the food being very cheap and plentiful.
Next we moved back into Austria to Lake Keutschacher near Klagenfurt and pitching lakeside for 5 days, so hot that periodically we cooled off in the lake which was only 20 steps away.
We then moved to another campsite in Austria at St. Viet near 'Zel am See' but the weather changed with torrential downpours so cut it short and decided to head into Germany where we would pitch up on the shores of the Rhine at a town called 'Bacharach, here the weather was much better and afforded some great scenery and walking. Eventually we headed back to Belgium for a few nights where we visited Ypres and the WW1 sites and Bruges, Whilst on campsite we went to the local vet for Cassie to be wormed and her passport to be stamped before catching the train to Folkestone.
All in all we were away for 43 days of which 7 were showers with two heavy, covered 3,500 miles, lost quite a few lb's in weight due to walking every day and now thinking where to go next year.
